Doe v. Combs et al

In 1998, John Doe, a 16-year-old from New York City, was invited to one of Sean Combs' legendary white parties at his Hamptons mansion through a mutual connection, seeing it as a chance to break into the music industry. The party was filled with celebrities, and while heading to the restroom, Doe bumped into Combs, who took a photo with him and expressed interest in talking. They moved to a private area near portable restrooms, where Doe shared his aspirations, and Combs assured him his lack of singing talent was irrelevant, emphasizing 'the look.' Abruptly, Combs demanded Doe drop his pants to inspect his penis, calling it a rite of passage to stardom. Feeling pressured by Combs’ power, Doe complied, and Combs grabbed and manipulated Doe’s genitals for an extended time before letting go and saying his people would contact Doe. Combs resumed the party nonchalantly, but Doe was left traumatized, later recognizing it as sexual assault enabled by Combs’ influence. The assault caused Doe ongoing pain, suffering, mental anguish, and shame, and he feared reporting it due to Combs’ notoriety.

Plaintiff seeks: (a) compensatory damages for physical injuries, emotional distress, psychological harm, anxiety, humiliation, pain and suffering, and other harms, in an amount to be determined at trial; (b) punitive damages in an amount to be determined at trial; (c) attorneys' fees and costs under applicable statutes; (d) pre- and post-judgment interest on damages, fees, and costs; (e) attachment of Defendants' real property and assets in New York per Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 64; and (f) any other relief the Court deems just and proper.
