McCrary v. Combs et al

In 2004, Jane Doe, a 19-year-old college freshman in Brooklyn, New York, was invited to a photoshoot promoting 'Da Band,' a group signed to Sean Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment, across from her campus. After meeting Combs at the event, she and a friend were invited to an exclusive after-party at a Marriott hotel in Manhattan by Combs’ associates. At the hotel suite, they were taken to a separate room by a security guard, where Combs locked them in, offered cocaine, and became aggressive. He forced Doe’s friend to perform oral sex under threat of death, then raped Doe despite her pleas to stop. After her friend escaped, Doe was detained briefly before being allowed to leave, returning to her dormitory in a taxi.

Compensatory damages for physical injuries, emotional distress, psychological harm, anxiety, humiliation, pain and suffering, and other harms; punitive damages; attorneys’ fees and costs; pre- and post-judgment interest; attachment of defendants’ New York assets; and other relief deemed just by the court.
