Steve Otis v. Sean Combs

In 2012, Plaintiff Steve Otis, an aspiring actor and model working as a contractor for the male companion service Cowboys4Angels based in Florida, met Defendant Sean Combs through the service. Otis was instructed by the service owner, Brett Taylor a.k.a. Garren James, to comply with Combs's requests without question, as Combs was their best client and could impact Otis's career. Otis traveled from Florida to New York City at Combs's request and met him at a luxury hotel in midtown Manhattan. Combs ordered Otis to perform sexual acts on a female companion, including oral and penetrative sex without condoms, and to ejaculate inside her vagina, in her mouth, and on her breasts, while Combs watched, kissed her, and interacted with the semen. Otis consumed a drink from a water bottle provided by Combs and had baby oil rubbed on him, making him feel drugged. After these acts, while in the bathroom, Combs entered, grabbed Otis's penis, inserted his finger into Otis's anus without consent, pinned him to the wall, and forcibly anally raped him for 4-5 minutes despite Otis's protests and screams of pain. Immediately after, Combs threatened Otis's life, warning him not to speak about the incident and referencing his alleged ability to have Tupac Shakur killed, implying he could do the same to Otis. Otis feared for his life due to public rumors linking Combs to Tupac's murder and Combs's resources and reach across jurisdictions. In 2014, after Otis posted a comment on Combs's Instagram referencing Combs's sexual deviancy (not the rape), Combs contacted Garren James, who relayed renewed death threats to Otis, stating Combs makes people disappear. Another Cowboys4Angels contractor, Jamie a.k.a. Tommy, separately warned Otis that Combs had called James multiple times threatening to kill Otis. Combs blocked Otis on Instagram. Otis refrained from reporting or suing due to these credible, repeated threats, which he believed were operational until Combs's arrest and incarceration in 2025. The threats were exacerbated by events like Kim Porter's 2018 death and speculations of Combs's involvement, and a 2025 documentary reinforcing Combs's violent reputation. The assault caused Otis severe emotional distress, psychological harm, and loss of business opportunities, income, and career prospects as an actor, model, and companion service contractor.

Enter judgment against Defendant and award damages including compensatory damages for emotional distress, nominal, punitive, and/or exemplary damages, attorneys’ fees, pre- and post-judgment interest in an amount to be determined at trial by a jury; and any further relief as the Court deems just and proper.
